Joyce lifted in house of commons bar - hopefully leading to deselection.

The man is a disgrace!!
As I've said many times, in this area you could put a Labour tag on a monkey and it would get in.

I think that the Falkirk electorate are wisening up. Lets not forget that Dennis Goldie got beaten at the Scottish Parliamentary Elections.

Contemptible man, but who's never fancied headbutting a Tory MP?

If I was a Labour voter, I'd be seriously questioning why the party held me in such contempt that it could view it acceptable to parachute a total skidmark of a candidate into the Falkirk constituency in the first place.

Vote Labour just because your daddy did, and you'll get the MP you deserve.

Not arguing with any of the above views on joyce, however, you really do have to ask why that is, and for dixie the cold hard truth is that it is because of the legacy of thatcher. The reason that the SNP do not gain much at westminster elections is for the same reason, people do not want to split the anti-tory vote, hence, joyce sneaks in as a result, unfortunately.
Its not for the voters to be blamed for this, they dont select the candidate, thats where the fire should be aimed at.
Political strongholds are usually reinforced by historical reasons, you could put a slimy weasel with a tory badge on it into politics and people will make it prime minister, for example.

Possibly, if he stands down completely. He could try to tough it out until being deselected at the next election arguing he was democratically elected to his post.
Of course that would be missing the point that the public might not have voted for a common thug. Having also said that, the fact he nutted a tory might actually and perversely, increase his popularity...."vote labour and we will smash a tory in the face"...

That could well be the case, as they can't use the "Vote Labour & keep the Tory's out" line again, like they did at the last election.

True, but then the arse is going to fall out of the lib dem vote all over britain at the next election after jumping in the sack with the tories, so it will be interesting to see where those votes end up. It should make the indy vote interesting mind you.

Let's give him the benefit of the doubt....................

..................... maybe he just lost his balance & fell in to the Tory!

Probably the weight of all the taxpayers money in his pockets that he's swindled in "expenses"

Just heard that when he stood for election to the Shadow Cabinet, there were 48 candidates for office to be voted in by Labour MPs.

He came 48th.. :P
