HMRC v Rangers

Post by dixie chicken » Wednesday 05th 2017f July 2017 10:41:11 AM

Really pleased that HMRC has won this case.
It was always nonsense that EBT schemes could be used to evade paying tax and NI.
Lots of other clubs and players will now be worried as hell.
At last, it looks like common sense has won the argument.

Agreed but I can't see why stripping titles isn't back on the table. Even the mighty Juventus couldn't avoid that punishment however this is Scottish football after all so won't hold my breath.

Agree with all of the above.

Title stripping MUST be back on the table - sporting cheating is one thing, but to be found to be acting illegally is quite another.

Asterisks and shame for ever more, please.

Exactly I don't want the 2009 Scottish Cup to be handed to us. That day is past now however the accolade should be removed from the old Rangers history books as they did not win it fairly. Asterisks on all titles won whilst cheating should be guaranteed to happen.

I want the Scottish cup, I also want compensation from the SFA for 2003.

We were accused of getting an advantage for not upgrading our ground and not meeting stadia criteria. Rangers with incorrect registration of players and tax avoidance gained a much bigger advantage.
The SFA should go after Rangers, this fraud effected Falkirk and should be seen a footballing debt, so it doesn't matter if it's old Rangers or Sevco.
I'm a bad man who doesn't waste time wondering what could've been when I am what could've been and what could not have been. I live on both sides of the fence. My grass is always green.

HMRC should never have lost this in the first place - absolute shambles of an organisation.

The titles the old club have now are are absolutely meaningless.

Glib & shameless, right enough.
No financial regulation, no corporate governance, no enlarged divisions, no summer football, no single ruling body, no new cash, no integrity. Behold the 'bright new dawn' for Scottish football,
