Indeed.

We do we persist with the whole walls at free kicks thing anyway? I don't believe, certainly at our level, that's there any great advantage to having one.

The players that possess the skill to actually beat a wall successfully consistently are so few and far between that it renders the whole process a waste of time imo.

Surely that's all the more reason for having one then rather than have the opposition having a free shot on target

The wall is an unnecessary distraction for a goalkeeper. No wall allows them to watch the ball all the way. Putting a wall up gives the taker something to aim for in order to hit the harder to reach areas of the goal. imo of course. :)
