Falkirk vs Ross County

Post by Dade » Tuesday 30th 2018f October 2018 05:26:12 PM

Clear apathy here when less than 4 hours before kick off there is no thread about tonights game. I considered going but really don’t fancy paying £20 to sit behind the goals and see us get humped by Ross County.

I then remembered that I booked tickets to go see Beetlejuice. Much better entertainment. Anyone want to discuss that instead? Bit less depressing.

Not going, I think my season ticket will work out about £40 a game this season.

Going to get hammered here, Ross County might not want to rub our noses in it and risk Paton or Muirhead clattering any of them - so they might come off the gas when 3 up.

I can’t make it but don’t particularly feel like I’m missing out.

I’ve still to see us score a goal at home this season and even if I had been attending I am certain that would still be the case.

There is no scenario where I expect the outcome to be different than defeat and Ross County will be ahead early on tonight. I’ve already called it that we are relegated and my only disappointment is I didn’t get a Shire season-ticket when I got one for us as at least I might enjoy some form of football at Westfield this year.

I'm making my way through the DVDs of Game of Thrones again from the start. Really enjoying it; will finish Season 4 tonight.

I'm going only as i have a season ticket but daughter isn't using hers . she has a maths test tomorrow and would rather study for that. don't blame her although we might need a calculator to tot up the goals against tonight!

Game of thrones is ace. We started watching Sopranos again on Now TV but only got to season 4 before it was taken off. Forgot how amazing that series is as well.

Sad state tonight is that we are 11/2 to win at home. I’m not ever sure we had such high odds when playing Rangers. Talking of DVDs, I might start watching Fortress Brockville soon to remind myself how good we once were...

Bold selection tonight with both centre-halfs dropped and fans favourite Robson in.

Did McKinnon finally lose patience with Dallison and Harrison and is he also using Robson to prove a point to the fans.

Still can't see us winning with Muirhead at the back but he's marginally better than the aforementioned.

I’m sorry but none of that squad will be good enough to win a game until jan.

Even if we did win tonight still bottom and Ayr and Dunfermline next.

I thought that was a bit odd to be honest. If he gets a minutes silence then why didn't Barry Chuckle?

1-0 up at half time!!!

Actually looking much better, pressuring RC into making mistakes.

Great run and cross from Robson for the goal. It was an OG,but so good to see that net bulge.

Should have been 2 after some good work and pass by Petra. From 5 yards out, Paton seemed to let the ball hit him and the chance was lost.

Team seems more assured, hopefully they can continue in the 2nd half. Hope RC don't up their workrate either.

Mitchell also with a couple of fine saves.

It feels like County have another gear to move up to if they can sort themselves out but we're doing well and in short spells playing some nice stuff. Even playing with a bit of confidence at times.

Very solid performance. In recent years we would have seen this as points dropped but in the context of where we're at this season that is a fantastic point and an impressive step up from Saturday.

Petra, Robson and Muirhead were very decent. The latter putting in a proper captains performance. Even the likes of Paton played well. Sure he had a stinker of a miss in the 1st half and lumped the ball up the park a few times but he kept that midfield ticking over well.

Big positive from the day - we created a lot of chances. Lewis, Irving and Paton all unlucky not to score - looking at BBC I'm amazed they only have us down for 4 efforts on goal. Anyway, in our better days, we would've won that at a canter. Big thumbs up for the effort and application tonight.

It’s not good enough though a win would have us within two points. It’s 4 now with two difficult games coming to. Sounds like the game was there to be won tonight.

Beggars can’t be choosers. No one gave us a chance for this one and I’m sure we would all have taken the point pre match. Got to see and take the positives from this one.

It’s a funny old league this season I can’t believe Ayr are top shows how much bigger sides are struggling.

Unlucky not to win tonight, county had loads of possession but we looked pretty structured and probably created the better chances. Mitchell was very assured and no chance with the goal. Badly need to find a way to retain the ball better though and stop losing it so cheaply. Paton was certainly better and cut out a lot of the silly first touch passes to no one.

He's got to start that formation going forward with bauben in for one of the midfielders.

An unexpected point, which was so close to being 3.
An improved display against the best side to rock up to TFS this season.
County are easily the best in the division. Fast, sharp, expansive & playing with a lot of confidence.
That we condensed the game into our half, to & hit on the break, pretty much resonated with how we played, & found other teams in the division, a couple of seasons back.
Defence looked a lot more assured, but look like missing Muirhead on Sat. As it looks like he's picked up a nasty injury.
The best 90 mins we've played this season, which isn't saying much, but is a start.
Well done, bring on Jobbys mob.
No financial regulation, no corporate governance, no enlarged divisions, no summer football, no single ruling body, no new cash, no integrity. Behold the 'bright new dawn' for Scottish football,
