A quick phone call to Alex Smith. He would just about make Saturday,... I’ll donate my Airmiles.

Pierre Littbarski and Russell Slade are next line for phone calls.

Absolute shambles the club is in being turned down by average managers.

A once attractive job now one nobody wants. I assume they can see what crap Harltley has bought and the club is not bottom for nothing.

With the rejections, I guess Jim Duffy is an appointment for stability which we badly need right now. Job’s turning in to a poisoned challice!

McCall must have been close to joining going by the tweet yesterday about black smoke coming from the stadium. Unfortunately it looks like he changed his mind perhaps from an emotional plea by the Ayr chairman.

I think he does feel like he's got unfinished business with us but when you consider where his career was when Ayr came knocking I do believe him when he says he has a personal debt to the chairman.

I just hope to God it doesn't end up being someone like Duffy. Just no.
If you're committed enough, you can make any story work. I once told a woman I was Kevin Costner, and it worked because I believed it.

I suspect the board got permission to talk and out of courtesy to Falkirk McCall had a brief chat to say he was happy where he was which is understandable.

Everything at the moment is about reading between the lines:

Very likely that this was true and they had held discussions with people who then said they weren't interested. It is then accurate to say they hadn't offered any of those two the role.

feels very much like we are heading towards the bottom of the list of candidates that the board had their eyes on to take over from PH all very disconcerting and leaves a feeling of past caring to me.......we didn't get our 1st or 2nd choice according to the media which leaves us scrambling or begging for someone to come in and work with both hands tied behind their back never mind in the BOD we trust to get this decision correct

Ray MacKinnon is being touted.

Personally wouldn't be happy as pretty sure he's just a hoofball merchant

Why would he leave Morton?

More cash, bigger club and travel time to and from work?

Crap squad, no money, poor league position...

Atleast he got them to playoffs.

I’d swap bottom for playoffs. Morton have a few good players so maybe he can bring them or some from United.

It’s official, from our website.
Ray McKinnon and assistant Darren Taylor.

Not unhappy, but then again I thought Hartley was a good appointment.
Ray has spent the summer sourcing his squad at Morton, sitting (joint) top of the league at present.

Why on earth would he come to Falkirk, inheriting a squad of under performers at the foot of the table?

Now with both McCall and McIntyre ruling themselves out of the running even though one of them does not have a job leads me to think that jungle drums have been beating. Scottish football and the people within it is very much a closed shop with lots of tittle tattle between them all.

I am sure phone chats will have been made between a lot of parties and maybe - and this is just my opinion - the word has gone round of what is actually going wrong with us or what the BoD expect or want. Or they have had discussions about the calibre of player we currently have with no time to get rid and recruit and thought nah not for me so I am out.

Perhaps to throw the baby out with the dishwater regards binning the academy, putting all our eggs in one basket for promotion (sic) a scouting system that so far has come up with zero will come back to haunt us big style
Allegedly Robbie Neilson knocked the job back this morning so we moved on to the next candidate.
Maybe someone who is ex-directory
