QoS 25/8/18

Post by kemlinbairn » Wednesday 22nd 2018f August 2018 08:34:15 AM

Well for what we have seen so far and what has been mentioned about the reserve game the other day makes this game, in my opinion, a pivotal game for our season.
Win and we might (might) be able to kick on, lose and I think we are gubbed already. Draw much the same.

The team need to make a statement to the fans in this game.

They need to show they're up for it from the 1st whistle and get in about QotS and put them on the back-foot - too often teams come to us and get stuck in and we're left chasing the game as per the opener against I.C.T.

Score 1st, get the fans going and aim for a clean sheet. It should go without saying but we haven't shown that ethos and urgency for a long while in my opinion.

I'm not dismissing the opposition but we really need to get off the mark this weekend.

I dont see how we can possibly aim for a clean sheet when Stephen Dobbie will score.
Its part of his contract to score against us.
1:3 QOTS (and I havent even seen us play competitively yet).
Here comes the doom.

From what’s being said from within the club it’s sounds as if Hartley will be sacked if we don’t win at the weekend. I personally feel that he should have been sacked at the end of last season.

Are there murmurings? I would be surprised if our board were trigger happy at this point as we have had a difficult set of fixtures (even if I believe we should have done better).

Best we can hope for is a draw. Hartley will be looking forward to playing as many players as he can out of position as is his want. Defeat on Saturday and I think he will then have lost the faith of the majority of the support

No chance of Hartley being sacked this weekend.

In any case, I doubt if a new manager would be able to do much with this squad of players except play them in their correct positions.

Just looking at the squad beggars the question "does it really matter who plays where?", as every player has been pretty awful no matter where they have played. The only player that looks guaranteed to play is the Hearts kid Irving, with maybe Paton and Muirhead strong probables. Just put all the other squad players names in a hat and pull them out and try to arrange in a 5-4-1 formation, as that seems to be Hartleys favourite choice of line up. QoS will likely pump us and it looks more and more likely it will be another disastrous start to the season. I imagine Hartley will get the whole season in charge irrespective of recent results, as we won't have cash to ditch him anyhow. This squad lacks pace, power and ability, and we have maybe one or two capable of getting maybe 8-10 goals a season but no out and out striker. Weaknesses all over the park - central defence slow and not agile enough, midfield slow, lacking in fight and has no invention, attack lacking supply, pace and a goal scorer. How Hartley has assembled such a poor bunch beggars belief.
A.P.K.A. - alba bairn. I don't know why they "suspended" my previous account? Ask them.....

Can't get away with the new squad excuse any longer. He made the bulk of his signings very early (thumbs up for that) and though it's a joke of a tournament the league cup offered some extra competitive early games. They've now had a weekend off on top to work on things. I can't make tomorrow - a blessing? - but 3 points are needed and quickly.

No danger of him getting the boot 3 games in to the league campaign - nor should he be given the heave ho either in my opinion. Far too knee jerk of a reaction. I'm going to try to remain reasonably chill until the end of Q1.
If you're committed enough, you can make any story work. I once told a woman I was Kevin Costner, and it worked because I believed it.

I'd say haber has to play if fit.

can't see us keeping a clean sheet against dobbie and dykes so here's hoping we have a go, force their goalie into some saves, entertain our long suffering crowd and win!

first half 2 nil down and we've not had a shot on target.

dobbie roasting Harrison all day. 7 defensive players and we look like it again zero entertainment. Muirhead beaten dobbie every time but dobbie moved on to Harrison and dallison who are way too slow. Russell been our best player by a distance.

get back to a back 4. Russell Muirhead McGhee Robson

Zero entertainment. Zero fight and Hartley has zero clue.

The support made it pretty obvious that he's not wanted. Hopefully he hears it and does the decent thing - if not the board must act!

Houston's record with the players afforded him time but Hartley doesn't have that and we need to change before we get cut adrift. It's not knee-jerk this time it's the reality of the situation as the squad is not up to the job.

Controversial choice but I'd go for Yogi. After Hartley it's better the devil you know...

Christ, where do you start with that! An utter embarrassment to call he selves footballers......and a manager. As bad as I thought it was in the first half, even I was unprepared for what rolled out in the second half. i can't believe it took Dobbies and Harkins so long to twig that our entire midfield defence(I use those terms lightly) were rancid. We seriously are in deep shoot. That was 0-3 going on 0-12 and it's only thanks to the goalie (who was complicit in the first goal) that they didn't reach double figures. If/when Hartley does go, we've now got to get a magician in, because that's the only person who could turn a bunch of bumbling armatures into a decent team. When Hartley does go, I hope to god he takes the clown that sold the club these turkeys as well. I honestly thought we'd hit rock bottom last season with Houston, but I'm wrong again.

We had 3 shots on goal with zero on target, they had 27 with 11 target.

Total domination from queens from start to finish.

Embarrassing!

i honestly thought the days of clarke and lambie were distant memories......how wrong was i watching that brought back said memories and some, no formation, no idea, no clue no leader no fight out of the 16 new players only 4 at a push i would keep irvine haber lewis and fasan the rest can disappear any time they like along with hartley. sad worrying times ahead .

The worst ever.

Hartley, Campbell and everyone else responsible for this ‘strategy’ should be clearing their desks on Monday.

Never thought I’d be saying that after three games but the writing is on the wall here. It’s not getting any better and Hartley is trying to rip the pish out the fans by claiming that all it will take is hard work.

The players you’ve signed are rubbish, Paul.

He’s set the club back years here. Worrying times.
