I hope mackin has improved in both ability and general fitness from the guy who played against us for Livi and Brechin. Not one I’m too excited about but hoping he has improved a lot
He hasn't.
He's as bad as old shovel heed Derek Colquhoun

Haven't seen any games so far, early reports suggest we are very much a WIP and maybe haven't added too many that could be considered improvements. This was always the risk becoming reliant on the recommendations of the "Scout down South", and the manager not having seen some of these new guys play. Only time will tell. Certainly up front we needed to sign an equal to Jak or better, looks like that might have fallen short. Hope it all falls into place a week on Saturday

I had a worrying thought earlier, Mackin went out on loan to Brechin from Livingston in January time and that was around the time Miller left Falkirk (give or take a month or two) we essentially let go a striker who is so much better than Mackin, albeit older and bought a guy who couldn't lace Miller's boots from Livingston and also couldn't get a game with them when Miller could. Deary me I'm not as enthusiastic as I was a few weeks ago...

According to the BBC, we are poised to sign Marcus Haber on loan from Dundee

I wonder how many players PH has tried out so far? I've only seen 2 matches, but Dallison is the only stand out for me. Forwards are weak, midfield non creative. I can't see there being a settled side for several weeks and even then, it could be lower half of the league quality. Shouldn't be so depressed on a Friday but there you are.

Delighted to see we have signed a striker with a proven track record certainly makes me more confident we can score goals which was looking a worry

I think we now have a very balanced squad Witt
strength in depth to see us through to January

Believe patience is called for now & that we recognise that these guys particularly the younger crop up from England need to be given time to settle locally & we as fans have a big part to play to encourage & support

Exciting times ahead COYB

You should know by now that this is 100% impossible from your average Falkirk fan.
If you're committed enough, you can make any story work. I once told a woman I was Kevin Costner, and it worked because I believed it.

There is one problem with this.... and that we will not have until January to get the team fully functioning if we want to gain promotion. We need to be challenging for the league well before then (and up to that point). A good start is pretty much a necessity.

The club have put quite a few eggs in the basket this season with so many new signings and with most of the Dev Squad gone we have nothing to sell on to keep us financially stable. I have a bad feeling that the balance sheet will not be so rosy come November when the AGM is due... If we are not fully functioning by then and not close to top o' the league, we could be looking at a pretty dire situation financially.
Come the revolution......George will be first against the wall :D

nothing to do with optimism.... more realism !

I predict that we will not be in the top 3 come January.... my predictions are Ross Co., Dunfermline and Partick (with Inverness being in the mix as well). ....although I would be more than happy if we were in with a shout.

Another new signing, this time from the Jambos! :bang:

Everyone knows the thinnest book in history is "Great Falkirk players signed from Hearts"

I know McGhee did decent last season in total shoot show of a team, I cannot see this lad doing anything to help us reach the top this year, if he was as good as we need him to be, some English mob would have taken him for their youth team.

waste of cash!
I'm a bad man who doesn't waste time wondering what could've been when I am what could've been and what could not have been. I live on both sides of the fence. My grass is always green.

That's what I think. I hope I'm wrong but it feels we are currently a shambles

I am giving him a chance. Just feel we are a confused mess at present and it will take a while to sort out.

According to the bookies we are 6th favourites to win the league this season.

.....and unfortunately, they rarely get it that wrong.
