Whilst not particularly impressed with a lot of the signings being made by the likes of Dunfermline and DU, it's difficult to laugh too much given the absolutely pathetic state of our own "squad".

A lot of peoples fancies for the league Inverness have announced the signing of Jordan White. Give them the title just now
Whilst he was hopeless for us, target men often get better with age, they learn to draw fouls, use their strength properly etc...
He’s only 26, might be not the worst signing.

So you would have been happy enough if we signed him then?

Not as a first choice player, but from the bench, why not?
Scored more goals down south than Dennon, Nelson and Jak

Why not? Because he is rotten. I wonder what you would have said if Houston had signed him for us

We shall see how he does for Inverness. If he scores more than 7 league goals will you lot admit he'd have been a decent squad player?

Even if he does a John Baird and scores 7 penalties?

Just admit you would have liad into Houston if he signed Jordan White.

Hartley obviously looks all over for players, he signed more players from outside Scotland in one transfer window, than lazy bones Houston did in 3 years.

For me, this was always an area of great irritation. Peter Houston, for all the work with the SFA, and as a Celtic scout, showed a downright lazy approach when it came to finding players. The club that we are, while it would be nice, can't be sending off scouts to far-flung corners of the earth. However, whenever it came to a Houston signing, it was predictable what kind of player would turn up, and that it probably took them no more than an hour's car drive to get here.

8th again unless a major investment comes in the squad.

Who'll need to be of a far better standard than the strange collection of signings made to date.

They all have the same patchy records, comprising negligible first-team experience, and absolutely none at any decent standard. Various loan spells at clubs in the nether regions of the English league pyramid where they have failed to make any sort of impact. Unable to hold down a regular place for the likes of Morecambe. They are just gambles at best. Kilmarnock went down the same road a few years ago, importing a job lot of nobodies from England in the 21-25 age bracket and it was an unmitigated disaster. No-one could objectively compare our transfer strategy to the likes of Ross County and Dundee United and conclude that we'll be anywhere near promotion next season.

Kilmarnock done it with Steve Clark as manager, he is beyond useless.

Let's just see what the rest of the signings look.like before we judge the window as a whole.

I presume you mean Lee Clark!!

Steve Clarke has been sensational.

Nelson, robson and jakubiak all had spells in some backwater league without holding down a regular spot, but all performed reasonably well for us.
