St Mirren Away

Well, the league is done and dusted, and the Buds have made it an absolute cakewalk.
So now this game means little to them. Sadly, our one point out of the last twelve shows that every game means even less to most of our mob.
Perhaps Hartley has shown his hand, or most have now worked out for themselves that their time is up. Let’s hope so.
While to doesn’t amount to anything important, if our lot decide to chuck it in the last three games, then the only thing it does is make it difficult for Hartley to justify keeping anything more than a handful of them.
Thomson, Tummilty, Grant, Watson, Muirhead, McKee, Kidd, Harris, Taiwo, Longridge and Loy........their collective teas are oot.
That’s a full eleven right there, and I am sure there are plenty more to join them.

Comfortable, party atmosphere home win by a goal or three. Let’s hope I am wrong, and a bit of pride surfaces amongst the eleven in navy blue.

A few weeks ago id have fancied our chances to get something but weve been awful since halftime against brechin. Too many not interested and this hasnt been helped by hartleys dreadful team selections recently. Nil poi id say.

Anyone fancy us for no points from our last six games?

I said that to my pals after the QOS game and was quickly dismissed. I'd love to say I hope I'm wrong but don't actually give a monkey's anymore, as the team clearly don't.

Six games?
The season has been rank rotten surely you don’t want extra games

We've already played three of them...

Yep, no extra three games, we’ve already been skittled out in three of the six. The two St Mirren games theoretically offer up the best chances of wins as they have nothing to play for, whereas we need a point to turn probability into certainty.
I have no desire for the gap to drop to five points before we go there next Saturday, although Dumbarton look to have thrown the towel in already. I’d rather not give them any reason to man the barricades on Saturday.
Now logic says a 5-1 defeat away from home can’t be turned into a 1-0 home win in the same season, but we have just experienced slightly worse than that ourselves.
Hopefully ICT do the needful so we don’t have to.

how things have changed since a couple of years ago when every game in the last half dozen played in the season was played like a cup final by players who didn't know how to give up.

really hard to predict how our last 3 games will go as it will depend on which team st mirren put out for both gamed, by all accounts they've been celebrating most of the weekend and how motivated they are now they've won it and whether our players have now downed tools or not. also if Inverness take points off Dumbarton tonight they shouldn't be as up for it as they might Saturday.

either way this season is fizzling out fast and is one of the poorest I can remember

I reckon whether our team can be arsed is actually more important than what team St Mirren put out. There wasn't an awful lot between the sides the last time we met and that was pre transfer window with the likes of Harris and Craigen playing. Unfortunately our players for one reason or another have downed tools so even if St Mirren put out their u20's I reckon we'll get pumped.

A midfield starting with Harris and McKee. Jesus Aitch Christ. Get the prayers started. Can only hope St Mirren are well and truly on their summer break already.

Words fail me - that Joe McKee open goal miss was stunning.

Does anybody seriously believe this rubbish will beat Ayr and Raith over two games?

Good result.

Surely now safe but hopefully a clear out.

I hope we can do a St Mirren and go from relegation form to title form next season.

OK. Thank f**k we don't have to. Delighted that Sibbald was the man to nail it.

Hopefully Hartley will stick with tonight's formation instead of the 3 centre backs next season. Obviously with a new team as well though!

Hard to sum that up. St Mirren reserves, yet we still made such hard work of it.
McKee’s miss was up there with the best, but at least he scored. Kidd couldn’t have made it any more obvious where he was putting the penalty, and thank goodness, up stepped Sibbs to draw down the curtain on a season of utter guff apart from the one game where we actually dismantled a side that was ready to be dismantled.
Watch now as DU stroll past Dunfermline and Livingston to take on the top flight second bottom side.

So now Hartley’s job as manager can officially begin. For me, I would be happy to see Robson, McGhee, Sibbs, Jak and Nelson here next season. I firmly believe Nelson could make real progress next year.

The rest? For a while, I wasn’t fussed about any of them. For me, they could all leave. Now........now, today, I want them all gone. Longridge is the only one who wouldn’t anger me if he was still around next season.
I will settle four our five plus a dozen other 6’ 2” guys who are desperate to make a go of it......Scottish, Irish, English, Welsh.....just get guys needing a fresh start with the right mentality, and let’s see what happens.

Total meltdown if any of the other non contracted players hang around though. We all know Harris and Loy can just sit it out as the resentment grows and grows.

Why, does it justify a contract extension?

cares did the business.....
