The idea of squad players at a club the size and resources of Falkirk is just unrealistic I'm afraid. Every player should be capable of commanding and retaining a place in the team over a sustained period provided their form and fitness warrants it.

Hartley appears little better than Houston in terms of a bind spot/favouritism towards certain players who simply do not deserve it. Ryan Blair, whilst no world beater, was surely deserving of more game time than he was afforded since signing on loan in January. Really disappointed at his lack of opportunities. Tom Taiwo, whilst overrated by some supporters, was just bombed completely at the end. Totally unnecessary, the guy has been one of the better servants to the club over the past few years. They have been overlooked in favour of the utterly ineffectual trio of Kidd, McKee and Welsh who have been given regular game time they did not deserve. Harris is first off the bench when someone like Ciaran Dunne would have been far more preferable.

Worrying signs, and I think any hope of a mass clearout and clean slate for next season is a forlorn one. We're going to be seeing a lot more of some of the aforementioned dross than anyone would wish if rumours are to be believed.

Regards the 'clear-out' when do we expect to hear the list of those going?

Everyone seems to be desperate to get rid of Kidd. Although not the best player going I'd be happy enough to keep him for his versatility something that could be very valuable in a smaller squad.

I've heard Hartley wants to keep Welsh for next season. Not sure I would keep him but maybe with a pre season under his belt he could do better.

No way will Hartley be able to make every supporter happy. Some would be happy for Kidd to stay, others want him gone. I see Muirhead as a key component of our awful season, others see his captaincy and penalty taking as key component of us doing better and surviving in the league.
About the only players where there is common agreement that they need to be moved on are Shepherd, Loy and Harris. Thing is, getting rid of just those three isn’t going to fix what’s broke. Those three had precious little game time, so it wasn’t them that only won two games in the first half of the season.

There will be players who might end up leaving (like Grant and Taiwo) who deserve to be well remembered. Others will quickly fade from the memory.

This may have already been made known in the past but how long are the contracts for Harris, Loy, Muirhead and Shepherd?

As for Taiwo and Grant (especially for his Cup Final goal), I wish them both well (unless they end up with the rest of the Bairns Legion up in Dunfermline)

No Welsh or Kidd?

Another season in the doldrums then! :bang:

... and so it begins.

Sad to see some of those names go but don’t disagree with the decision.

Hoping that the club are now negotiating with those in contract to come to a mutual parting. Still too many who aren’t the solution to our problem.

My greatest fear is Harris is liked by Hartley and he *thinks* he can get him playing. I have my doubts :?

Not nearly lengthy enough a list.
No financial regulation, no corporate governance, no enlarged divisions, no summer football, no single ruling body, no new cash, no integrity. Behold the 'bright new dawn' for Scottish football,

100%

Some players may not even know where they stand yet.

Also if there are 12+ coming in who knows what quality they will be?

I remember we kept Sam McGivern and people asking why, and along came Stainrod. The rest is history.

Thought Grant and Taiwo would have stayed. Why is Aero still here, over paid drama queen. As for Loy and Harris, WTF! Hope Robson signs a new deal and the new incomers are decent.

It's a start and perhaps contractually, the club are avoiding mention those who have a contract but who are no part of Hartley's plans.
Early days, and not for one minute do I think PH is finished with the "get rid" list.
The last thing we need is public announcements saying certain under contract players have been told they are no longer wanted, and who then decide to dig their heels on for a year, and pick up a wage for nowt.

Kidd and Welsh are not under contract, and should have been gone as well. Lumbering ourselves with these two, Muirhead, Longridge on top of the ridculous drain on resources that constitute Loy, Harris and Mckee is utterly ridculous. Far, far too much dross still hanging around and players being kept on because they are "favourites" rather than on any merit. No different from Houston.
