Miller and Kerr

Post by Dade » Sunday 31st 2017f December 2017 03:40:37 PM

Anyone know what this Miller and Kerr chat is?

Been reading Andy Rodgers on Twitter saying they’ve been made scapegoats by the manager but no idea what it’s all about.

Hartley just realises like everyone else that the two of them should never have been re-signed in the summer especially now the academy and u20s ate getting binned.

That’s not a bad point. I like them both as I’m nostalgic about that season at Brockville where we demolished the league but let’s face it, they are both past it. Miller can do something from the bench but Kerr offers nothing, he serves no purpose except to frustrate the hell out of the fans. Good luck to them both.

Andy Rogers is giving Hartley pelters on Twitter because he’s upset his pals in Miller and Kerr. Says no one has a good word to say about Hartley in the game.

Miller and Kerr were part of the team when Houston was in charge, we were 2nd bottom then, we’re still 2nd bottom. Difference is Hartley bloody well knows we are crap and appears to be scouring the UK to find players to improve us. Not just the M8 corridor!

The old quote “ you’re either part of the solution or you’re part of the problem” comes to mind in relation to Kerr and Miller. I agree with the manager, I don’t see these guys helping us get out this situation.

He’s friends with both players so seems to be sticking up for them even though I’m unaware of any public criticism being thrown at them from Hartley.

Anyway have to say I agree with Olaf. Somethings went wrong behind the scenes and Miller and Kerr were far from being the experienced leaders we expected them to be on the park. Ok Miller could still maybe do something but he wasn’t much of a leader. If they’re not performing then they need to move on. We can’t be hung up on sentiment at this moment in time.

Maybe they fancied a crack at the job themselves when Houston went.

I don’t think we will see either in a Falkirk shirt again.

Quite possibly. Mind we had that scenario when Presley was appointed and McCann and McNamara wanted the job. Don’t think that helped the dressing room spirit.

Noticed Miller, Kerr and Loy having their pictures taken with kids trackside before the game on Saturday.
They were decked out in FFC tracksuits and looked very happy.

Stretcher for Rodgers!
Does he still work in Overland?

He doesn’t.

I think Rodgers point is those two have done more for Falkirk than Hartley, so far, and if what’s been alleged is accurate then the situation should have been handled differently.

For instance, Hartley could’ve been diplomatic and told them the club are going in a different direction personnel wise rather than denigrate them as Rodgers alludes.

Their experienced pros and I’m sure they know the score hence their dignified actions on match day and social media.

Think reading between the lines, based on allegations, Hartley needs a lesson in diplomacy. Kerr and Miller have been good servants to the club and deserve respect when being told their leaving. From Hartley’s view, he’s the boss and he can do what he likes and how. If it means moving the club forward from where we are, I don’t care about personal feuds. As long as it’s for the good of the Club.

What's with treating Kerr and Miller as if they are some Falkirk legends for f*ck sake? They have been good players for us over the years - only good as the last season and a half has been a waste of time - but lets not blow this out of proportion.

Whether they have been disruptive behind the scenes or not (I suspect they have been), the bottom line is that neither are good enough or what we need right now and both should be moved on if at all possible.

If Hartley has been blunt with these two (and others) then I'm glad to hear it - about time they were told some harsh truths. What have these players done this season to deserve anything different?
If you're committed enough, you can make any story work. I once told a woman I was Kevin Costner, and it worked because I believed it.

Pretty clear that the inference is Hartley singled Miller and Kerr out as troublemakers in the squad. I'm not saying they're above criticism but Hartley has been around long enough to "play the game".

I'd suggest when results haven't turned he's felt threatened that experienced pros are questioning his methods and possibly cast them as scapegoats - rightly or wrongly.

In context, Miller and Kerrs service, if not legendary, affords them more in my book than what Hartley has done so far and one win 3 months into your tenure leaves him a long, long way to go to even come close.

Sorry, that just sounds like a whole load of supposition, hopefully you've got more to back this up than a couple of tweets from a ludicrous character like Rodgers. I suspect you havent though.

Kerr likely to feature tomorrow. I have my doubts about Miller. These guys should have left last summer. I am more concerned that Muirhead seems like he is staying at the club.

I'd struggle to see any justification for Kerr being recalled. We looked a bit more energetic and mobile in the middle of the park on Saturday, him being nowhere to be seen had a lot to do with that. Time to move on.

I read the tweets by Andy Rodgers who said that he heard it straight from the mouths of Miller and Kerr but I still don’t quite get his gripe as Hartley hasn’t publicly slated them. On the contrary he’s given them plenty of game time since he’s been here and it would be no surprise if he has told them to move on. It’s not like he came straight in and bombed them out. Also not sure what these supposed rumours are or where they came from about them undermining Alex Smith. Not heard any of that.

Rodgers is obviously annoyed that his two mates are being dumped by us but by the sounds of it he’s not a fan of Hartley for whatever reason so not reading much in to it. Besides I’m not bothered whether players like managers so long as they do what they’re told.
