Falkirk v Brechin 16th Dec 2017

Post by Bridge of Allan Bairn » Thursday 14th 2017f December 2017 02:08:56 PM

ok unless you were one of the hardy souls that were at greenock you haven't seen us win in the league since God was a lad.

Brechin seem to be improving but surely this must be our best chance of winning and breaking this truly horrific run? hopefully the game will go ahead and some injured players returning will improve the performance. I don't care how we do it but Hartley needs to make sure these players don't accept anything other than a win here.

as a season ticket holder I've seen us score only 3 goals this season. it's nearly Xmas. based on what I paid that's £167 per goal. come on guys have some pride in what you do and entertain us!

If we finally manage our first home league win in December, will this be a club record.

I honestly think we will turn a corner soon, we just can't keep this bad run going (can we?).
It'll be freezing and probably not nice to watch but this is it guys, it's our time!!

Can see this going either way. Have we hit rock bottom yet? Guess we'll find out. Last thing I want is a draw. Lose and it will be as big a kick up the @rse this lot could get. Win and it's a boost. Draw and the malaise will continue.
If you're committed enough, you can make any story work. I once told a woman I was Kevin Costner, and it worked because I believed it.

I'm just not sure where our goals will come from these days. what's our top league scorer got one maybe two goals? Austin and loy look like they'll never score at the moment. not sure if it's a system change or personnel change required or both to get more goals but it's not worked. I think we've scored about 3 goals in 8 home games. 1 goal approximately every 3 games. that s almost impossible to achieve even if the players weren't trying!

been saying this all season but I just want to see one of our forward 6 players grab the game by the scruff of the neck and play well. can't think of one stand out performance from a front player all season

We will win this. I have even put money on it. Mind you its not the house or anything.....

I think we need a change of tactics away from 4-4-2, to something that will hopefully garner more points throughout the season. I'd go for 3 at the back, and flood midfield with 5, try to at least get in behind teams and get the balls into the box. Until January we should try and get as many points as humanly possible on the board and then get shot of as many as possible as we can (although who would want them is beyond me?)

For Brechin I'd go with something along this line up.

-------------------------------Thomson------------------------
-----------------McGhee---Balatoni---Grant--------------------
Tumilty-----J Mitchell-----Taiwo-----Sibbald-----Gallacher
--------------------Hippolyte-----Miller-------------------------

Or, Longridge for Hippo depending on fitness and form in training.

Please Hartley drop the non-performing Muirhead, Kerr and Harris.
A.P.K.A. - alba bairn. I don't know why they "suspended" my previous account? Ask them.....

I quite like the look of the line up but I wouldn't have Miller starting any games this season. A good option with 10 to go but he looks done. Must admit I think we will lose again tomorrow. A team devoid of characters and leadership. We will huff and puff for 88 minutes without troubling their keeper and lose to a late Brechin goal.....

I will miss this but I haven't recovered from Tannadice and the home defeat to Morton. I think we will win this one but it will be a slog. I'm already preparing for the play-offs and a final vs Ayr or Raith.

very disappointed with this. supposed to be all weather pitch it's above freezing no snow and apparently a game was played on it last night. if this is gamesmanship to buy time for new players not keen on that.

I struggle to make mid week games so the season ticket becomes even poorer value

Only proves there was no need to change the park to AstroTurf. There's still a vast tract of land outside the stadium it could have been sited.

Strange decision to say hospitality is going ahead despite game being called off.

Surely another reason for much earlier pitch inspections.

Good idea but probably too sensible.

Need to pay the Polis and staff double bubble, so won’t happen.
