Can't say I blame him. Didn't really get the chance, but Houston was NEVER going to drop Rogers.

Maybe his wage will allow us to bring in a right midfielder!

So Houston signs accies reserve keeper instead of going tight in this area and signing a player who could get in the team. If Rogers got injured we could have got an emergency loan yet another poor decision from a manager who needs to roll the dice a bit

Also note Houstons contract confetti continues with an 18 month contract. Ridiculous

This is like musical chairs, "shoot, our back up keepers just walked out on us! Quick grab the first available guy."
No financial regulation, no corporate governance, no enlarged divisions, no summer football, no single ruling body, no new cash, no integrity. Behold the 'bright new dawn' for Scottish football,

A bit miffed by this one. I have no idea what Deniz was on or what this young lad will be on but why not go on a keeper down and do a Hibs and emergency sign someone later in the season if need be!!!
If you're committed enough, you can make any story work. I once told a woman I was Kevin Costner, and it worked because I believed it.

I would presume going by this that there's no chance of rogers being recalled baring in mind last seasons January debacle. Mehmet was our keeper whilst rogers is only on loan at the end of the day. If he's still driving up to Aberdeen a couple of times a week to train with them then I presume we'll need two other keepers . Bit of a farce to be honest.

If our form doesn't improve I'd be getting him into the first team sooner rather than later to get him accustomed to the rest of our defence instead of throwing him in at the deep end for the start of next season.

Dont understand the issue with signing a replacement keeper.
This is the most specialised position in the team, it would be irresponsible to leave yourself exposed with only one senior keeper on the books.
Never been a great fan of Rogers but he is well into his second season with us now which is longer than many permanent signings last so I dont have a problem with the loan system in his case.

You can get an emergency goalkeeper in any time though. We went for years without two experienced goalkeepers without an issue. The problem with rogers is his training and international commitments. If it wasnt for them I'd just go with him and mcminn.

My main concern is an injury to Rogers during a game, would you want to throw on an untested youngster with 70 minutes still to go at Easter Road for example?

If we don't get any other fresh faces in this window it'll be immaterial whose in goal as we are going to struggle big time.

If AC Milan were happy to play a 16 year old goalkeeper in competitive Serie A matches then I’m sure a 19 year old could handle playing in the Scottish championship, he needs to learn sometime.

There’s no point retaining Rogers, send him back and use his wages elsewhere.

Scott Thompson's son, the same Scott Thompson who was on the Dundee Utd coaching staff the same time as Houston.
It's really not even funny anymore, helping out a mate's son.

It's clear Houston see's our club as little more than a charity to help out his friends within football.

Why sign this guy, unless he's going into the first team as an upgrade on Rogers? Lewis McMinn is 19 if he's not capable of being on the bench, then why is he even at the club? The club could always sign an emergency goalie should Rogers get injured and he was out for an extended period.

My main concern is an injury to Rogers during a game, would you want to throw on an untested youngster with 70 minutes still to go at Easter Road for example?

So? That is three points lost and hey! who knows McMinn might have a wonder game like David Marshall did against Barcelona at the Nou camp! - BUT without a improved right sided midfielder with a bit of pace, we will lose a lot more than 3 points.

Houston is all about the path of least resistance, absolute laziness, lack of imagination and creativity both in signs made and management of the 1st team budget.
I'm a bad man who doesn't waste time wondering what could've been when I am what could've been and what could not have been. I live on both sides of the fence. My grass is always green.

Sorry the new keeper is another QoS reject he only got one game. If he was any good Hamilton and QoS would half
Kept him. Don't care what Houton says.

Looks like this shuffle was what Houston anticipated would be our January business.

Who will be next, if any?

No mention of his own cock ups in the transfer market that have got him into this mess in the first place. We've got a big squad now of mediocre players. If he fails to get anyone out the door in january then he has noone to blame but himself. To try and pretend that we're not that far away from Hibs is farcical as they are only going to get further ahead as they strengthen their squad. We need at least two out the door and two new faces in. Over to you Houston.

He played a lot more than one game for QoS.

I am not convinced he is that great though TBH.

Deniz was decent enough in u-20 games. Not sure how he'd have fared in 1st team tbh as he suffered the same issues as Rogers - not commanding his 6 yard box, and not the worlds greatest shot stopper, but at least his distribution was better than Rogers.
A.P.K.A. - alba bairn. I don't know why they "suspended" my previous account? Ask them.....
