70's Brockville

Post by Bula Bairn » Wednesday 21st 2016f December 2016 08:48:21 PM

Got this clip from the Shire site. No sound or goals unfortunately but still great to see the old place on 'derby day' as a bit before my time...

Other nostalgic clips on Shire site that some on here might remember...

Maybe a thought for our site?

That's an excellent little series of movies.

Notable is the maniac desire of defenders to pass the ball back to their keeper at all costs!

 that nonchalant pass back at about 14 seconds in
If you're committed enough, you can make any story work. I once told a woman I was Kevin Costner, and it worked because I believed it.

The Arbroath one is mad.

I took a load of VHS HQ video of Brockville (empty) just before they flattened it, i haven't watched it for a good few years now & i still have to transfer it to a digital format at some point & find the appropiate sound track to go along with the sad event  i've also got some 35mm pictures from the late 70's - 80's & have to do the same with them.

Would be great to see them - so little Falkirk footage from the 70's - 80's online.

With a dad born in Bainsford, I spent many summers playing football at Dawson park, Abbotsford st and Davis Loan, and going to every Falkirk match we could when we would visit. My earliest memories are of being at Brockville in the late 60s, early 70s-I'd be 7 or 8. Consider myself fortunate to have those memories-Hogan on the wing, Gibson in the middle, even remember Ally MacRobert scoring at Thistle.
Just received a brand new kit top for Xmas. Have had a kit for entire life. So do my kids.
Cheers and thanks for the run down memory lane
