Accounts and AGM notice

Post by Olaf Thom » Wednesday 28th 2018f November 2018 10:40:46 PM

Arrived today, I’ve left my copy on the desk at work and I won’t be back until Friday.

I had a glance then got distracted, I know the AGM is the 17th, did we make 185k or lose 185k? I know the bean counters will tell us that cash flow is king and accounts mean hee haw.

Anything to be perturbed about?

Received mine today.
AGM on Wednesday 19th December.
We made a group profit of £163k including an events profit of over £20k.
At 31st May we had £631k in the Bank.
As usual absolutely no details of the breakdown of income and expenditure.

I am more concerned about the current financial year.

Bottom of the league. Out of all the cups. No academy players to sell.

You don't need to be an accountant to know that next years results are going to be horrendous.
Its not the taking part that counts......its the WINNING.

I would be really concerned too, but in the chair's statement, it was mentioned they are doing better this year in regards financial targets (deflecting from the crap on the pitch) more hospitality, more season ticket money and the Little Mix concert etc... Someone mentioned Jay Fulton started 25 games for Swansea and we were due cash from that too. So knows, it might be 2 sets of accounts before the crap really hits.

On further examination, I have to conclude that these accounts are the most uninformative FFC accounts that I have ever seen.
They only show the absolute basic statutory minimum.
In previous years under MR we were given lots of information.
The only revenue fact is that we pay £75k per annum for the South Stand.
Certainly no sign of transparency here?
Interestingly, ML states that, CURRENTLY, the financial position has STRENGTHENED!!
Any other comments would be helpful.

Did our esteemed leader not state we would have went bust had we not closed the academy last December?

On page 8 of the accounts, it states that we made a trading loss of £671,735.

However due to "other operating income" of £835,324 we made a net profit of £163,589.

Does anyone know what makes up "other operating income".

Absolutely not.
This is my point about lack of transparency!!
It never used to be like this.

Surely that is a legitimate and reasonable question to be asking at the AGM itself?

On page 14 it states that "events" made a profit of £20,471 in the year to 31st May 2018.

The little mix concert was in the summer of 2018 and will appear in next years accounts.

In that case I'm as much at a loss (no pun intended) as anyone else.

As usual, a full report from any attendees will be appreciated.

Accounts are a shambles and the level of detail given gets worse every year. Then every AGM they ard asked to send out more info but they day they cant due to data protection even though as dixie says they used to send out a lot more info. Massive lack of transparency.

Murmurings on social media that there will be a move to block the re-appointment of Margaret Lang as Chairman at the AGM.

Personally I have a lot of time for her but in terms of the running of the club and recent events I would probably back action brought by the small shareholders to have her (and Craig Campbell) removed.

Nothing, absolutely nothing has improved during their tenure and they are now so toxic to the support their positions cannot be redeemed.

Any chance of the club trying to pull a Theresa May and attempting to postpone this?

The "other operating income" of £835,324 came from transfer fees (Tony Gallagher) and add-on fees (Stephen Kingsley).

So basically; unless we sell a player every year, we are still screwed - Marvellous!
