Signings on the way

Post by JaxinFalkirk » Friday 08th 2018f June 2018 05:05:29 PM

Could it be that PH & the board are listening to the impatience being communicated in some on line fans fora???

Personally speaking I appreciate the sense of calm assurance by today's message on official site

Whilst it would be nice to see a steady stream of signings announced I am not concerned at this stage. Delighted we haven’t signed some of the jobbers doing the rounds and happy to wait and see what develops. For me it’s all about the first league game of the season that’s when it matters and that’s when we can begin to judge this close season

Not impressed so far no players I’ve heard of. No proven goal scorers. In my opinion rival clubs are signing better players.

At the moment I reckon the club won’t finish above 8th or Mid table club is going backwords especially axing the academy.

The club needs a few ex top flight players ideally played at a decent club. I think we should be looking at Stokes or players like Miller and showing some ambition.

Like who? They're signing a whole bunch of jobbers in the main.
Let's hear it for the lovely ladies.

The biggest lesson from last season came from David Hopkin. He showed that attitude and the ethic of teamwork was (at our level) as important or maybe even more important than individual talent.
There is no way that the Livingston team he put together over a couple of seasons was awash with the most talented players in the league. You would be generous to say they more than three of the league’s best 20 players. What they had was a common goal, and a common understanding of how to go about it. They could play, but preferred to bully their way through games.
It won’t endure, but it was enough to get them out of this league.
For me, there has to be a bit more faith in PH. He needs to be given the opportunity to either fail or succeed.....given his results since taking over the reins, I wouldn’t bet against him just yet.
Sure, elderly big names will give an instant buzz, but we have been there before, and it didn’t work out too well.
We are guaranteed nothing, but hey, this has got to be better than last season. We are trying a relatively new approach, and yeah, it might ultimately fail, but the sky isn’t falling in just yet.

I'm feeling the excitement build in a way that I have not felt since 2002, when we avoided relegation because of Airdrie's liquidation. The last few years have seen signings which are more likely to get people to shrug shoulders than to sit up.
Of course, we need to see them in action of course.
If we have a cracking shirt to go with it, then the league is ours :D

great news! Chelsea have strong reserves and youth players.

What a couple of days of comings and goings. Loved the hype with the ffc twitter checklist.

Cant wait for the season to start now.
