Darryl Duffy Return?

Post by Warren Jeff » Monday 27th 2013f May 2013 06:50:04 PM

Duffy has been offered a contract by Falkirk. What do people think good or bad move? I'm undecided, he has other offers so may not materialise as he'd get more money elsewhere probably.

If he's still got the pace - good move. that was his greatest weapon IIRC.

Oh, and Lataaaaapy putting them on a plate for him. :)

Following Farid and Taylor. Being the Falkirk forward for next season is a harder task than Pep Guardiola has at Bayern.

Fearless or feart, It's your call Mr Holt.

How much more will Falkirk fans take if you pick wrong?

Him and Thomson had a good partnership too.

Aye , he's been tearing up the N-Power League 2, with 3 goals the whole of last season.

Reading his biog, he's never quite got the 1st team games he needed(wherever he's been), apart from when he was @ TFS.
FFC have helped resurrected his playing career once before. And Beggars might not be able to be choosers?

He's banged in 27 goals in a first division campaign so i don't think he would be too worried.

Would definitely welcome him back.

DD coming back would be a gamble, as any returning player is, but well worth a go imo.
Maybe it will be him AND taylor in the promised 2 up front ?

Meh.
No financial regulation, no corporate governance, no enlarged divisions, no summer football, no single ruling body, no new cash, no integrity. Behold the 'bright new dawn' for Scottish football,

Good signing if we could manage it I'd say.

This would be a great move, just coming into his prime

Hartlepool have also offered him a contract probably a better deal than we would be able to offer.

Would like to see him return.

Could be quite a strike force if taylor stays.

If he doesn't cost that much and is on a short term contract to begin with then why not.

Let's face it he won't be a re-sellable asset and I'd worry about his fitness and whether he still has it so wouldn't be up for offering him anything over an initial 3 months to begin with and nothing more than an average wage.

If true, a strike pairing of Taylor and Duffy would be awesome. We'd have enough firepower to win the league. As mentioned, Duffy's in his prime and it would be a good time to sign him. Even after a year's contract I'm sure there would be buyers for his services at his age, if he chose to leave.

I can mind Gerry McCoy arriving back & it was one of the worst moves ever.

Colin MCdonalds wasn't exactly great either or David Moss's.

I totally disagree with Quidsin. Duffy was in his prime 8 years ago!! Anyway like I said though give him a short term deal and see how he gets on. If someone offers him better then I woildnt be disappointed.
