Robbie Nielsen?

Post by Newborn Bairn » Friday 21st 2012f September 2012 12:22:17 PM

From BBC rumours page -
Falkirk could make a bid to sign former Hearts and Scotland defender Robbie Nielsen . The 32-year-old has been without a club since leaving Dundee United last season. ( Daily Mail )
Thoughts?

Supposedly he's totally against the move himself and has been training with us just for fitness purely

If that's the case - get him chased. Why are we constantly giving players access to our training facilities when they have no interest in signing for us?

I bet every club in the land has someone using their training facilities, I'm not saying it's right and I agree with it BTW.

If he wants to use the facilities then, as a free agent, he should be willing to put himself in the shop window.

I'm sure there are a lot of people would like free access to top of the range gym facilities. If he's not willing to come & go, then I'm sorry, he'll have to find them elsewhere.

Maybe the "plan" is to let these players train with us so that when they get a club they tell their new manager to come and check out our players so we can maybe sell a couple as a result ?
Nothing would surprise me with this BoD.

Would be a good idea to get him to play with a short term deal that might suit both parties.

I never understood how we were only able to sign one player with the money from the two Sevco games. He could do a job for our team in the 1St and would provide a bit more "leadership" on the park.

He is the kind of player we are lacking at the moment.

Play him as a trialist.
Could he do a job anchoring the midfield?
I have nothing clever or interesting to say here.

anchor, Noun: A heavy object attached to a rope or chain and used to moor a vessel to the sea bottom

We have seen more than enough anchors in our side these past 4/5 years thank you very much.

We need somebody to drive this team on, to play with a bit of verve & flamboyance. unfortunately, the manager doesn't seem to agree.

Signing a short term deal with us very soon. May even be annouced at Park Hotel shenanigans.

Source - ex Falkirk goalie once at Hearts.
Brockville Park was a football stadium which was the home of the Falkirk FC for most of the club's existence. It was regarded as one of the most intimate and intimidating venues in Scotland.
