Apparently in the Express. If he has, had a medical, would he not be in breach of contract?

Lovell's Existing Deal

Post by Mulson » Monday 04th 2009f May 2009 11:09:10 AM

Can someone clarify the finer details of the deal that was made for Lovell, obviously rumours are flying around about a move for him next season but I was sure we signed him for 1 year with the possibility of us extending it by one year.

Obviously if we get relegated I would expect us to offload him anyway but if we stay up and if he still wanted to go would we be entitled to anything for him if he did leave?

1 year deal, after 6 months he is entitled to speak to other teams. We look like we are ging down and Dundee Utd offer him a deal. Easy decision in my opinion. (if indeed, the Utd rumour is true).

It's the option of a year extension for him not us. It was our way of signing a relatively big named striker who was struggling with injuries and form.

Looks like it didn't really work for us in the second half of the season though

Wouldnt be sad to see the back of him to be honest.
If you're committed enough, you can make any story work. I once told a woman I was Kevin Costner, and it worked because I believed it.

If this it true show him the door now. How you can pass a medical at another club when you have injured for weeks is beyond me.

Would explain why this lightweight has been allegedley feigning his recent injury but recovered enough to start training last week after we won the semi...taxi for Lovell..don't want him any where near the squad if he won't push himself for the cause.

Given that it is quoted on other threads that he has passed a medical at dundee utd while being unavailable for selection for us, then maybe there is need for this "nonsense" ?

He'll still pass a medical if he's only suffering from a minor injury.

Or he will still pass a medical if he is not injured at all

I'm sure you CAN still pass a medical if you are suffering from a minor injury, Geeo?
Probably certain caveats tied to any deal though. Graham Barrett anyone?

Barrett was just poor decision making when he was signed.
Gow failed a medical at wolves, but played at a decent level straight away, hartson failed a medical at rangers, the rest was history with him .
Somehow, i doubt a club would sign someone off as fit when they are injured at their current club, and not playing.Unless of course lovell IS fit to play and there is something hughes is not telling us about the real reason he is not playing, when we have had a striker crisis, and a seemingly fit enough player at the club ?If the player is seriously enough injured not to be passed fit for us, how could united possibly pass him fit ?

Cause he's probably got something like a sore toe.

Whatever the injury it's going to be something shoot like a sprain. A physio should be able to do the vast majority of the medical without having him run around a lot or aggrivating a piss poor excuse for an injury.

Which is brilliant for Lovell, Dundee United won't know they've signed a lazy **** until the season starts.

Ask yourself this, why have the fans not been told what the injury is ?
Should hardly be a secret, should it ?
