Re: Tony Gallagher to be sold

I think 3-5-2 is the way forward due to our complete lack of wide players. Your 3 5 2 is looking more and more likely now. Could work well IMO but doubt Houston will go for it. ..............................Thomson............................... ...............................McGhee...................

Re: Jordan McGhee Signs

Kiddy is 'completely underwhelmed ' Eh? What did you want to happen? To continue with a centre back pairing of Gasparotto and Watson would qualify for the definition of madness. They've been a combined bombscare since paired for the playoff at home v Dundee Utd. I haven't seen any suggestions on her...

Re: Balatoni...

Houston has been hung out to dry? He resigned Watson, Kerr and brought in a 2nd experienced goalie, all 3 are contributing next to nothing. Houston has wasted the budget, we just got humiliated at home off Queen of the South. Our 1st team Budget will exceed theirs. To be fair Kerr was offered a dea...

Re: Houston to walk at end of season?

Such a statement (along the lines of ...this is my last season) is a blunder, of some magnitude. Football is littered by glorious failure of managers who have made such statements. Jefferies (DAFC) is an obvious example, Dick Advocat (of the bigot brothers) and, er, Peter Houston (DUFC)..... We're j...

Re: Balatoni...

Seems a case of 'right player, wrong time'. Balatoni has played over 30 games a season for his club for the last 5 seasons, at Championship level or higher. If Falkirk had signed him in June, he would have been more favourably welcomed and one to have backed up the board's bullish 'Our Time' asserti...

Re: craig sibbald

I think Craig has been a fine player , for one so young, with Falkirk racking up over 200 games before he's 23. The 'class' tag sits uneasy with me. For a footballer of Sibbald's stature (small, slight, no real pace, moderate tackler), you have to possess exceptional footballing ability to succeed a...

Re: Get Houston OUT

I can't see it for the life of me..... 1. Housty gets his bus pass next birthday (nothing wrong with that mind you!), and I would imagine he sees the Falkirk gig as his last in football management. He's doing well (-ish) yet see the level of criticism he gets on here. Not so sure he has the appetite...

Re: Falkirk vs Forfar

Houston didn't help by constantly playing him wide right when he's far better in the middle. If he'd been given a chance there rather than bringing in that imposter Rankin then He's have settled far quicker. Agreed that Craigen looks better through the middle but there seems to be a shortage of out...

Re: craig sibbald

Craig Sibbald played (as 'Trialist') the second half for Luton in a 0-1 friendly defeat to Leicester City last night. Manager Nathan Jones was guarded in his post match comments about 'Sibbs', the usual management sound bites..... 'he'll have to be good enough to improve the squad' 'we'll have a lit...

Re: Memories

Yes, so sad really. I remember Forbes as a talented midfielder, swift and accurate passer of the ball, if a wee bit slight of build. I was a regular in the 90s until 6 months of Lambie so saw quite a lot of Forbes..... A squad player during the Jefferies (post Stainrod) era, moved to, and played wel...

Re: Falkirk vs Forfar

Feel a bit sorry for craigen. He's hardly put a foot wrong recently and is full of confidence but will probably find himself on the bench come the 5th of august. Some of his play with loy last night was a joy to watch but I'd expect McKee and Harris will get the nod before him. Keeps the pressure o...

Re: Falkirk vs Forfar

See rumour we are after Keith Watson RB at Perth Saints but previously with Paisley outfit. Played under Houston at Utd so maybe something in this one which works suggest that Kidd on his way I smell rubbish (funny, not the word I used)...or in the very least a wind up from Saints (Jo) fan(s). Eith...

Re: Squad Assessment

That's the most comfortable I've seen us up at Inverness. Team looking very promising now. We need a couple of signings to ensure we maintain a challenge (hopefully). If Loy/Austen, or McKee/Taiwo get injured we are back to bare bones in these key areas IMO. It's good we are looking decent without ...

Re: Houston reverts to type

The moaning reaches new levels. Don't know why I still come on here TBH Why not try giving some opinions rather than just complaining? I actually thought that this was a good subject. The OP queried Housty's substitution tactics which were baffling to many (including me) but subsequent posts made e...

Re: craig sibbald

Talk about tempting fate......

Word from Luton Outlaws message board is that Sibbs hasn't played in friendlies due to being injured.
:(

Let's hope it's nothing serious, as apart from a broken ankle (if I remember correctly) as a youngster, I can't recall the lad being particularly injury prone.

Re: The EX-Bairn Files

Dundee Utd have signed Denis Mehmet. You know, the more signings that Dundee United make this summer, the more confident I am that we will finish above them this season. I mean, from unknown Dutchmen, to known downright average players (apologies, for being blunt, nothing personal) such as Tam S, D...

Re: craig sibbald

Sibbs is off on trial with Luton Town to Slovenia. I reckon he's the type to make a good impression 'on trial' and Luton may well end up being prepared to cough up the required ~£250k for the lad. Let's just hope Luton's recruitment staff don't read Duncan F's post......... Housty will have a replac...

Re: Rory Loy

Well Olaf is this a lazy Houston signing as you usually put it. I Think it is a good one Where is Houston's scouting ability? The third best team in the country beaten by part timers last night. Scottish players are poor, better to look abroad. Yet again Olaf, a good point, well thought through. Ye...

Re: Rory Loy

Helluva squad we have there and plenty room to rotate and keep players fresh. Yes, my thoughts too. I really don't think we need to bring anyone else in. Sure, in an ideal world, bigger budget, we could all think of 3 or 4 (the lad Devlin for example) that would improve the team, but we need to lea...

Against the 4th best team in Luxembourg.......thank their lucky heavens it wasn't any of the top three.

Chic the Y is stating it's the worst European result in the history of the club.......well it's both the first and worst, I'll give him that, so I will.
