Re: Falkirk late 70s, early 80s

I am trying to forget some of the 70's and you bring it back lol, but we did get to a League semi final twice, beated by Partick at Hampden and Hibs at Tyncastle I think. We had some terrible defeats in the 70's and it was a hrad time to follow the Bairns

Re: Will we sign anyone else ?

I think if we can shift Olly and Jones out the door then we could maybe bring in another player, sadly we are stuck with the likes of Smith. I think there will be departures i just hope its not Sibbald, Vaulks, Alston or Loy. I think there will be departures i just hope its not Sibbald, Vaulks, Als...

Re: Hibs v Falkirk - Pre Match Thoughts

Most interesting thing for Saturday. What will our team look like? I would like to see- McDonald Duffle Grant Muirhead Leahy Vaulks Kerr Sibbald Tiawo Loy Morgan If Morgan not signed( picked because he has been training with us for a while ) I would play Baird. Alston would then have to fight to ge...

Re: Falkirk v Raith - Post Match Thoughts

Just watched the highlights on Falkirk TV - we could/should have had 4 or 5 & on another day we would have won comfortably ! Highlight for me was Craig Sibbald's chipped pass which resulted in Alston's 2nd big miss - the pass was sheer class  Yes a bad result, but happy with the effort shown ...

Re: Houston

It will be interesting now to look at where we are with regards to Housty and comments. I said I would give him to December before I commented and yes, would have liked a few more points on the board than at present, but feel the team is now starting to bond together. Will in midfield, Duffy back an...

Well done and hope they turn up for the Junior Bairns on Sunday, great to see the team in the community with events now.

Re: Falkirk v Hearts - Pre Match Thoughts

Fear they'll be too sharp and strong again. Would like to see us having a go mind you. Expect the expected. They have got to lose sometime, we need a performance from the team and I mean all the team, Hearts move the ball very quickly so we cannot risk bad passes, we need to pass and move forward. ...

Re: 2014 Survey Results

The survey highlights the gulf between what the supporters want ie a winning team on the park and what the Board seem to want ie a profitable business. Over the past 5 years the club has improved off the park while on the park it seems to be going in the opposite direction. While I recognise it is ...

Re: Falkirk v Hearts - Pre Match Thoughts

This is the game that will determine if we make a push for 4th or not. We can only get better after yesterday and Hearts have to lose Shame on the fans who would rather watch it on Alba and have their own protest against Ritchie because he's a so called Rangers man. The patter isn't only old and un...

Re: Rangers v Falkirk - Pre Match Thoughts

We shouldn't go to Ibrox expecting much but we should expect a better performance than the one we gave yesterday. We should expect to be competitive. Yesterday was totally unacceptable. Up there with the worst this season for me and that takes some doing. Rangers didn't even play well yet cruised t...

shocking decision to play these matches at 5-30pm, it gets colder, when its dark so its bound to be baltic! As for Gaelic and BBC Alba its a disgraceful waste of money. Why Gaelic and not Scots, Doric or even Glaswegian. I saw a debate that Gaelic isn't a language at all, its a patois because it ha...

Re: Falkirk v Livi - Tuesday - Pre Match Thoughts

Na I reckon even Y front creamers such as myself are starting to change their tune. Tonight is must win. Correct, same for me. The signings of OTJ and Boulding , together with not signing Mark Millar were warning signs. It has to be wins in next two games or it could really begin to get messy. I wa...

Re: So What Is "The Matchday Experience"?

Thoughts go back to young lads going round the park selling pies and bovril at Brockville. Also who can remember charities carrying a blanket round at half time and fans chucking money into it! Bet Health and safety gurus would stop that show of community support. :wiggle: Bring back the old days a...

I think the win against Alloa wil push us on and I see us getting a result on Saturday.
If we play the second half team we finished on the other week, in midfield that extra bit of dig may help us, like Grant and see us starting a run.

Yep, it'll be an "undisclosed fee" that will of course, be well laundered in the accouting books so the actual number isn't known, but you can bet anything above 100k will get him landed..........hell, maybe even less than that. Re: Did we really expect to win the league this season?

I'd agree with a lot of this, going up this season was always going to be a massive ask as hearts, hibs and rangers simply have far higher budgets and can attract better players. Saving our money for a strong challenge next season, where the league will probably be much weaker, seems like a better ...
