Re: Hartley’s gone

It’s official, from our website. Ray McKinnon and assistant Darren Taylor. Not unhappy, but then again I thought Hartley was a good appointment. Ray has spent the summer sourcing his squad at Morton, sitting (joint) top of the league at present. Why on earth would he come to Falkirk, inheriting a sq...

Re: Hartley’s gone

Now with both McCall and McIntyre ruling themselves out of the running even though one of them does not have a job leads me to think that jungle drums have been beating. Scottish football and the people within it is very much a closed shop with lots of tittle tattle between them all. I am sure phon...

Re: Hartley’s gone

We're in serious shoot.......... Couple of candidates (the Mc brothers) turned us down, Gary Caldwell being lined up (rumour). Gary was last manager of Chesterfield and took over (Jan 2017) when they were at the foot of League 1, duly relegated to League 2 then sacked after a poor start to the subse...

Re: Hartley’s gone

Its an utter mess. Hartley’s position was untenable, and from the optimism of the final few weeks of last season to the utter despair of this one, its a fall from grace of some magnitude. What happened, Paul? We need a replacement quick, but we musn’t panic.......catch 22. In the ‘please to God no’ ...

Re: Sibbald signs for Ferranti thistle

A strange move for a ball playing midfielder, devoid of pace.......given recent reports of Sibbs’ efforts to ‘bulk up’ and add some strength to his physique, he may have picked the correct assistant manager to provide that little bit extra.....

Am I right, Duncan?

Re: Hartley to rebuild squad in transfer window

Another dud gone. Craigen away. I've a great deal of sympathy for James Craigen. Towards the end of last season he had his best spell for Falkirk playing in an attacking midfield role, scoring goals and delivering accurate, pacey balls from set pieces. This season, the manager changed the set up to...

Re: No more academy?

I actually agree with this. Let’s face it the most promising youth were never likely to come to Falkirk and with project Brave and its elite academies around the corner this is likely to get worse. Let other teams spend millions developing players they can ill afford to put in to their first team a...

Re: Who should be next manager?

He ticks a lot of boxes in that he has experience managing in this division. Took Dunfermline up, kept Ross County in top league, made top 6 and won a National Cup. However my first option would still be Hartley. Something about McIntyre that I’m not so keen on. Not sure why. To look at any negativ...

Re: Cappielow, 30/09/17

Anyone at this? Think this result goes to show you Houston had well and truly lost the dressing room! Great to get a clean sheet and a win finally! Sadly, this type of performance/result happens regularly when a manager's contracted is terminated. Neither reflects well on the players nor is a sign ...

Oh dear Kerr and Taiwo both start tody. Lets just hope Taiwo plays just in front of the defence shielding them with Kerr further forward.

Looks like McGhee playing left back.
Jeepers........
Maybe actually 3-5-2 with Muirhead and Harris the wing/full backs?

Re: Who should be next manager?

I think that Martin Rennie would be a very interesting and inspired appointment. I'd be extremely wary of that type of appointment at any time, after the Cathro/Hearts disaster. Given the current state of things, it should be a total non-starter, and surely will be anyway, as the advert requests pr...

Bottom Bia Bi on for Hamilton vs Rangers tonight. Didn't even realise he was there!
Played well for 30 minutes, holding ball up, winning a pen, and forcing keeper into excellent save.
Rakish Bingham on the other hand is pants.

Re: Who should be next manager?

Sammy McGivern Mentioned Martin Rennie, who I have not heard of TBH, but apparently he could have the attributes to succeed with us. Martin Rennie.....the name rang a bell, possibly when we've been seeking a manager previously. Former ball boy at Brockville! Looked him up in Wiki, and his CV (urgh)...

Alleged betting odds (although they have the wrong Brian Kerr mentioned)
Coyle is now 4s ON to be the next Ross County manager with BetVictor.
Extremely worried that w/o Coyle, current favourite for Falkirk job is Naysmith.....

Re: Who should be next manager?

Well, Ross County have parted company with Jim McIntyre this morning. Being a confirmed conspiracy theorist, the timing of this has the makings of nabbing an out of work manager before we do. Step forward Paul Hartley. As for our immediate need, Owen Coyle would be very good but not if he viewed us ...

Re: Get Houston OUT

I've held back from posting any thoughts in the last few weeks, because I not only respect Peter Houston, but like the guy too. Never met him though, but he's been part of Falkirk since Alex Totten brought him into the club in the early 80s when we were really at rock bottom. The worrying signs that...

Re: Jordan McGhee Signs

I hope McGhee and Balatoni do well for the team, but it's tinged with a degree of sadness that Grant and Luca are not our chosen centre backs for seasons to come. Peter seems dogged by injury which may be caused by the dreaded 4G pitch. Luca is dogged by a far from healthy appetite, not quite Fulton...

Re: The EX-Bairn Files

Hadn't realised this was where David Moss had ended up until I heard his name on SSN TDD yesterday. Yeah, always had a lot of time for Moss, especially first time around as a player. Seem to recall his name popping up and on here when we were between managers. Huddersfield Town are a team in the as...
