Re: Back the Bairns Imagery

Pablo Robertson is now 102 years old.
Paul Hutton has probably changed his name (again).
I had the fax/email from Man Utd regarding the BtB visit to meet with Alex Ferguson at Carrington. Up the loft somewhere I think.

Re: MMMMMMMMM Dennon!

Nor me. My abiding memory of Marino was him lying in a spasm on the turf at Cappielow. Never felt as uneasy about an injured player as I did that day. Truly horrible thing to see.

Re: MMMMMMMMM Dennon!

Fergie......special. I still have my “poster” of him. They were being handed out (I think with a newspaper) prior to his debut. Tbf, it’s like the Turin shroud now, and is falling to bits. Of course, he is resplendent in his Rangers kit.........some things never change. I am sure Fergie managed a do...

Re: Play offs today

It all depends how much Livingston are prepared to overspend by. They were still losing close to £1k a day in the season just finished. I don’t know how much their revenue will increase next season, but they are still likely to have a fair number of sub 2,000 attendances once things settle down. The...

Re: Play offs today

Will be surprised if Hopkin hangs around. His stock will be high right now, and if he stays, the only way is down.
If any move comes from lower league down south, he will be off like a shot.

Re: Play offs today

Despite my wishing eternal damnation on all things Livingston FC, I must admit that getting rid of them (even upwards), is a wonderful thing. They really are the horrible cousin that’s stole from the family more than once, and now another part of the family are going to be pestered by them for while...

Re: Hello Dave! It's season ticket time.

We all see a different player in Muirhead. I see a guy who is a firefighter. He will dive in with the last second tackles and blocks. Some see this as a super committed leader. For me, if you wind the clock back a few seconds before his last ditch tackles and blocks, you see a guy who often causes t...

Re: MMMMMMMMM Dennon!

Yes, you are probably right, but over a longer time span, we haven’t been renowned for single star goalscorers. Fantastic if we have one (or even two) now. Having said that, by recent standards, 20 goals in a season isn’t exactly prolific, so quite possibly we’ve had our fair share of those. I need ...

Re: MMMMMMMMM Dennon!

We’ve never really been a side with a particularly great history of forwards with big goals per season figures. Way back, I remember Gerry McCoy being a bit of a phenomenon for us.....probably because we hadn’t had someone who scored most weeks for a few years. Of course, Super Sam was transformed b...

Re: MMMMMMMMM Dennon!

Right then. We seem to have the blue steel signings well in hand. For the midfield, all we need now is a bit of the real steel. This is getting seriously exciting. Til pre-season, I don’t give a toss about the potential limitations. Just got to revel in FFC finally attempting to break away from the ...

Re: The clear-out

Welsh will be huff puff if “pay as you play” deal was all that was offered. Longridge has talent, no doubt, but inconsistent with it. He will have wanted cash that reflected his talent, not his inconsistency. Possible that the offer reflected both, so he wouldn’t have liked that very much. Possibly ...

Re: The clear-out

On a different note Livingston. What are they doing so right that we are doing so wrong as a Club? They have next to no fan base, been virtually bust every other year, and yet they are on the verge of promotion via the play offs? Where have Falkirk FC failed where Franchise FC are ‘thriving’. Yes p...

Re: Patrick Brough

Stokes equates to “good times” for most of us. We never had to deal with the daftness that ensued once he was earning enough to indulge his daft side. I will use the word “daft”, but I am sure others will know it to be a lot darker than that. I am happy enough to give Hartley free rein for the comin...

Re: Patrick Brough

Totally agree. While it means nothing once a ball is kicked, for now, it’s a refreshingly different approach for us to be taking. Big units (or good small ‘uns) from England with something to prove or in need of a fresh start is infinitely preferable to “he might not be too bad because Hibs/Hearts h...

Re: The clear-out

I am biased(in that years back, I understood their business practices very well). Firstly, they have a convicted sex offender, a convicted thug and a convicted drug dealer all involved. Couple of them are very decent players that most other clubs wouldn’t touch, but Livingston have never been shy to...

That won’t change any time soon. The printed media is still reeling from crumbling circulation numbers, and throw what little journalism remains in a never ending recycling of anything Rangers, Celtic, Hearts, Hibs, and Aberdeen, and the likes of BBC Scotland are stripping back their online coverage...

Re: The clear-out

Must admit to not giving a thought to a reserve team.PH talking about a stripped back squad of 20 players doesn’t even cover the basics of two starting elevens, so I guess he must be looking at the first team bench guys also being a key part of the reserve team and the others being younger players. ...
