Re: Dumbarton Away

Brian, you came perilously close to being someone moaning about the people moaning about people moaning.
Referring it to VAR showed that you were just onside, so your post is valid, and didn’t break the three moan law.

Dumbarton Away

Thankfully, a completely meaningless fixture in terms of league status for next season. Some minor bragging rights is all there is at stake. For Us: A chance to notch up our first victory over our part time colleagues, and open the gap to 14 points (something that looked barely credible even three w...

Re: Club Statement

Agree Dixie. We need to get that revitalised. Did anyone notice that the statement seems to have Hartley much more at the heart of things than we would normally see from a BoD type statement? It reads as if he is in there with the Board, and a crucial (and equal) part of the decision making processe...

Re: Our Season in Quarters

Q4 now reads P7. W2 D2 L3. Pts 8 Will definitely now end as our second best quarter. Thank God for that. I reckon Hartley must have really been feeling the pressure these last few weeks watching the team fall away again. If Dumbarton lose tonight, then the league table will look very comfortable, bu...

Re: St Mirren Away

When he’s off his game, he’s as bad as any of the rest, but when he’s on his game, we have few if any that can match his level of skill. Of course we need to keep the guy if he’s up for staying.

Re: Club Statement

For now, it’s only words, but I have to say those words are refreshingly different. For once, it seems we are all singing from the same hymn sheet. If not a ST increase, then the club might want to re-energise the £10 a month standing order. A vibrant similar system effectively saved Hearts, and gav...

Re: St Mirren Away

Hard to sum that up. St Mirren reserves, yet we still made such hard work of it. McKee’s miss was up there with the best, but at least he scored. Kidd couldn’t have made it any more obvious where he was putting the penalty, and thank goodness, up stepped Sibbs to draw down the curtain on a season of...

Re: St Mirren Away

A midfield starting with Harris and McKee. Jesus Aitch Christ. Get the prayers started. Can only hope St Mirren are well and truly on their summer break already.

Re: Our Season in Quarters

Dire reading and lays bare how bad this season has been. Also utterly exposes how under invested we've been that St.Mirren, relegated in 2015 have bounced back in 3 years and yet we will be approaching 9 years stuck in the Championship (if we avoid the play-off which isn't a certainty). .....and Li...

Re: St Mirren Away

Yep, no extra three games, we’ve already been skittled out in three of the six. The two St Mirren games theoretically offer up the best chances of wins as they have nothing to play for, whereas we need a point to turn probability into certainty. I have no desire for the gap to drop to five points be...

Our Season in Quarters

It’s generally accepted as the most reliable form of in season form, as you tend to play every opponent once in each quarter. Ours a bit skewed because of St Mirren and Brechin. Q1 The Quarter From Hell Played 9, Won 1, Drawn 4, Lost 4. Title campaign effectively over by October. Houston under press...

Re: Dundee United Away

I think maybe Hartley has given up on them as a collective group too. Since the Dumbarton threat faded away around the time of the QotS game, then even the good guys have started to throw in the towel, and who can blame them? Is there a single Houston signing that would get pass marks for this seaso...

St Mirren Away

Well, the league is done and dusted, and the Buds have made it an absolute cakewalk. So now this game means little to them. Sadly, our one point out of the last twelve shows that every game means even less to most of our mob. Perhaps Hartley has shown his hand, or most have now worked out for themse...

Re: Dundee United Away

Thing is, we can’t get into the cycle of binning managers every 12 months or so. Hartley is ambitious for himself never mind FFC, so it’s in his own interests to get this right after making some daft mistakes at Dundee. He can not afford to swamp us with diminutive midfielders in some sort of madcap...

Re: Dundee United Away

Beat again, and no surprise I guess. Three straight defeats with only one goal scored, but I there’s not been a huge amount in any of them. Many thanks to ICT (and Nathin Austin) today for finishing off Dumbarton. When we don’t have Brechin to play, our form book certainly changes. That’s one win, t...

Dundee United Away

Late in the day, but here we are. It seems the juggernaut has been quietly parked up for the rest of the season, and the form book that was the touchstone of why we could make the top four has been sneakily shoved under the sofa cushion. Fancied us to get beat again today, and at time of writing we ...

Re: Inverness away

I can’t disagree with your sentiments, and while a top four finish should be achievable, I wouldn’t be going daft if it didn’t (provided that we weren’t messing around at the tail end of the league table, and there was signs that things were moving in the right direction). Grubbing around in 7th, 8t...

Re: Inverness away

My slight concern is any alleged increased budget already has a chunk of it devoted to duds who decide to see out their contracts. That makes any “increase” debatable in real terms.

Re: Inverness away

I honestly think he needs next season, and the season after that. For me, the only thing that would change that is relegation next season. If the likes of Loy and Harris decide to shrug their shoulders, and see out their contracts, I reckon that leaves Hartley trying to build a small first team squa...
