Re: PTFC v Falkirk : 12th January 2019

Just watched Saturday’s highlights and impressed by Rudden’s positioning. I know I’m only viewing him on highlights but anytime the ball gets near the box he looks lively and always picks up dangerous positions. Few players possess that kind of instinct. I know it may look like he’s doing nothing if...

Haha, I’m taking that as a victory and yes you should have came to the Station that night as like Rudden your presence was missed! :)

Re: PTFC v Falkirk : 12th January 2019

Had we set out our stall last Summer with a goal of simply staying in this Division then my view on Rudden would likely be much kinder. Of course he's good enough for a team scraping together Championship survival. But for where we want to be (or should be)? He's a decent squad player to have. Begg...

Even we would have missed John Baird when he was banging them in for us!
I refuse to converse further on the matter after this comment.
Nice swerve Jones!

Re: PTFC v Falkirk : 12th January 2019

Another far too quick to accept mediocrity... I’ve never suggested he was brilliant but your point was we wouldn’t miss him. Any club would miss any striker on form. Even we would have missed John Baird when he was banging them in for us! Just thought it was a strange thing to say considering he wa...

Re: PTFC v Falkirk : 12th January 2019

In the context of this game, being without Rudden is a blow but I would never describe losing him as "massive". I wrote elsewhere that if Ray can't get another forward with more ability by the close of the window then the task ahead is going to be a lot harder than it should be. I wrote that before...

Re: FFC v DAFC 29/12

What chances?!?!? We had two shots on target all game Wasn’t at the game so was just going by what Jones said but that doesn’t sound like good support for saying we should’ve won that game. In any case the argument was whether we would miss Rudden. Had he not played vs Ayr then I doubt that spill w...

Re: FFC v DAFC 29/12

Didn't work out that way for Freddy Adu! Context is important though. I originally said we wouldn't miss him during the international and cup games. I think that was Partick at home (where we absolutely should've won and played very well) and then Stenny which was a horsing. Debatable whether he wo...

Re: FFC v DAFC 29/12

It shows how far we've fallen when people vehemently stick up for a player with Ruddens qualities. He's only a fraction better than John Baird! Possibly but he’s only young so can surely only get better. Regardless context is King and you said we wouldn’t miss him in this current squad. I beg to di...

Re: Ayr Utd v Falkirk : 05th January 2019

I remember travelling down to Ayr for our first game with a totally new look Falkirk team 16 and a half years ago with Ian McCall in the opposite dugout. What a buzz that day was as we came away with an amazing victory.

Hopefully history will repeat itself!

Re: FFC v DAFC 29/12

There was a time recently that I said we would be fine without Rudden while he away on international duty and a few said I was mental. Hopefully now you can see why I thought the way I did - he's crap. Wish I’d commented on this previously! ;) As I’ve said before anyone that can find the back of th...

Re: Alleged Racism towards Dennon Lewis

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/46510687 Thanks Pete, that completely passed me by. So was it an overheard conversation or was it some guy giving non racial dogs abuse to Lewis. If Lewis heard it he didn’t seem to react to it and it didn’t stop him praising the fans afterwards. Either way I ag...

Re: Alleged Racism towards Dennon Lewis

What was the actual conclusion to this? Fans did abuse Lewis but none of it was racial abuse or that it was an overheard conversation?

People seem to be talking about this as though the facts are known but I’ve heard nothing official. Where’s this information coming from?

Re: Alleged Racism towards Dennon Lewis

What really gets me is that probably over 95% of our fans are decent people yet the media in recent years is not portraying this - on the contrary. The Dean Shiels incident(s) and this recent regrettable incident, both completely unacceptable as we have all stated, have given the public an unbalanc...

Re: Alleged Racism towards Dennon Lewis

Was just a story I heard, could be miles off the truth. Racist language was used although not loud enough to be heard by someone on the pitch. The offender was pulled up at the time but then moved. Lewis/ffc were then informed post match of the incident. Whether Lewis heard it or not is irrelevant,...

Re: Alleged Racism towards Dennon Lewis

Unconfirmed reports is that it was a relative of another player who overheard someone loudly using offensive words. Where did that report come from? I read that on P and B as well. If that's true then it makes a bit of sense as to why no-one else heard and to a lack of reaction from Lewis during th...

Re: Alleged Racism towards Dennon Lewis

Have to agree with Jones. If it was audible to Lewis from the pitch then someone else in the stands would surely have heard it, especially if it was more than one person. Was the racist abuse due to his colour of his skin or the fact he's English? I could certainly imagine a shout of go back to Engl...

Re: Scumfermline v Falkirk

On yesterdays performance, I feel we could get by without Petra and Rudden to be honest. Any more though and we should look to postpone. These international games + some injuries really does leave us scraping the barrel. I haven’t seen enough of Rudden to comment but he’s scored 4 goals in 9 appear...

Re: Falkirk v Ayr Utd

There is a big difference to conscripts fighting in WW1 and WW2 to professional soldiers fighting after 1960, it’s a job, no more deserving of respect than doctors, nurses, fireman and police. Spot on. It was only a few years ago that I realised people had started tagging on the post WW2 stuff. Nev...
